Reach is moving our Sunday service(s) to Juanita High School starting October 5th! If you'd like, you can watch our full Sunday announcement.
Juanita High School is located in Kirkland at 10601 NE 132nd St, and we are so grateful to be able to gather in their Performing Arts Theater and Commons.
In the Spring, Northwest University’s leadership decided to not renew our rental agreement, so that a new Assemblies of God church plant can use the university’s Chapel beginning in October.
Following Jesus is an adventure that has taken Reach from some living rooms in 2012, to a community center, a public high school, exclusively online, then a hotel, to Northwest University, and now back to a public high school. Far more than the building we go to, Reach has always been about being the church for the sake of reaching our city.
The story of God in our region is much bigger than any one church, and much bigger than any one generation. Since 2021, our chapter at Northwest University has been beautiful, as have all of the chapters in the life of our church. It’s all been preparation for the new God intends to bring about in and through us!
We love Kirkland and the Eastside. For 13 years, we’ve called this area home. We’ve always been about $20 million short of buying our own building, so we’re willing to hustle and get creative to be together on Sundays and to invite our city to know Jesus.
Over the Summer, we investigated over forty possible venues on the Eastside, including commercial properties, public gathering spaces, and existing churches. We cast a wide net, and chased down every lead, no matter how unlikely.
Ultimately, every other door to a possible Sunday morning venue was closed. We’re grateful for God’s gracious provision in connecting us with Juanita High School, a location that allows us to affordably stay rooted in Kirkland and meaningfully serve an important school in our region.
The story of what God is leading us into is not finished, even with this move to Juanita High School. The rootedness and generational presence we long for in a permanent location on the Eastside is still our audacious dream that we hold before God in prayer. We dream of a facility that will more fully provide for our heart and vision to see our region transformed.
There are doors opening, conversations beginning, and properties becoming available. While these new opportunities don’t address our immediate need, they could be a part of Jesus leading us to a permanent, long-term home.
God only uses the pieces of our lives that we give Him. Thank you, church, for your prayers, generosity, and support in this past season! For those wondering how you can contribute even more:
We’re excited about this new season, and we know that God has good things in store for us. Join us in praying for every person who walks through the doors as we gather at Juanita High School; we know that people will meet Jesus in this new home.
If you have any more questions about the move, please don’t hesitate to reach out to info@reachchurch.cc.
