You’re Invited
Whether you’ve been following Jesus for decades, or identify with words like “curious” or “skeptical” when it comes to faith or church, we want you to know there is a place for you here.

NOTE: Care Groups are closed environments that ask for consistent attendance (not missing more than 2 weeks in a given cohort). This is essential for creating a safe, trusting, and therapeutic environment. Missing more than 2 weeks can disrupt the group’s rhythm and cohesion, making it harder for members to feel connected and supported.
Date: 7:00PM on Wednesdays starting Sept 30th*
*NO GROUP on November 25
Overlake Christian Church (very close to the Reach Church Offices):
9900 Willows Rd, Redmond, WA 98052
This Care Group for Men is about understanding & exploring many areas of our lives, including:
Here’s what people at Reach have said about their experience…
“This group is so much more than a book study, but a space for men in all stages of life to be open and vulnerable, and build a new legacy without the fear of shame or judgement.” – Nathan
“The Unwanted group showed me how to live a life free from shame, guilt and confusion from the lies I’ve believed for so long. It has allowed me to be more honest about my story as God has revealed who He is, who I truly am, and who I’m not anymore.” – James
“This group has helped me understand the source of my anger and disarmed it. This was the weapon the enemy has been using for so long to direct that anger towards my wife. I’m learning to put into words what I’m feeling and the Holy Spirit is helping me understand why I’m feeling that way. Truly thankful that I’m not alone in this.” – Anton
“Before joining this group, I did not understand the impact of my past on my current life. I did not understand how I felt or how to process those feelings other than going to my default (which so desperately needed adjustment). The course helped me to put language around my feelings and also provided tools and ideas to help me deal with things in a better way. I’m not done but I feel better equipped.” – Tyler
Walking through “Unwanted” by Jay Stringer, this Care Group is about understanding how to live a life that is free from shame, and instead gain community and healing in an area where we often feel we must hide.
The leader of this Care Group, Josh Loy, is Reach’s Care Pastor and a licensed mental health counselor.
NOTE: Many groups on this subject within churches have included harmful ways of engaging men, including pressure/manipulation, sin-hunting, or increasing shame through telling men they must fix themselves or “do better.” This Care Group is about finding freedom, giving back honor/compassion to ourselves, finding the ways that holy desires (like sexuality, mystery, closeness, belonging, purpose) have been twisted to keep us stuck, alone, and full of shame. It is built on curiosity, toward ourselves, our experience, our history, and toward God. You will not be pressured, but you will be invited to understand yourself and your story more deeply, as we trust in Jesus together.
