Sermon Clip Ninja

Opportunity

Everyone loves an inspiring, encouraging or challenging sermon, but 40-minute videos are not the typical way folks consume with video online. The average person today has an 8-second attention span, and video online reaches the most people in concise 30-60 second snippets. Hundreds of people already watch and listen to our sermons online—think of how many more would engage with the Gospel regularly after seeing a captivating clip!

Core Responsibilities

  • You cut down memorable parts of our sermons into inspiring, challenging, or provocative clips. You have an ear for the momentum of storytelling, and can craft a 30-60 second (or 2-3 minute) clip with a story arc: a strong opener, exposition, and conclusion.
  • You keep the audience in mind, providing value for the target audience by focusing on content that provides content that directly answers their felt needs. They should feel like the video is directly speaking about them.
  • You pursue concision, cutting out fluff while avoiding cutting out essential context.

Requirements

  • You love Jesus — You know and have personally experienced the power of the Gospel to change lives. You want to do everything you can to use media to share this good news.
  • You love ReachAs someone who has appreciated our community, you want more people to experience Reach by sharing life-changing teaching.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere or have used another video editor and are able to learn new software quickly.

Scope

  • Trimester long commitment (3-4 months).
  • Able to give 2-3 hours to editing down 1-2 sermon clips each week.
  • Invited to attend our Team Meetings on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30-3:00.
