‍The Role | What would you say you do here?

The Reach Kids Pastor will be the champion of all things Reach Kids! You are a Jesus-loving Pied Piper: a fun-filled, high energy leader who sets a welcoming and dynamic atmosphere. In partnership with the Reach Family Pastor and Reach Kids staff, you will facilitate weekly Reach Kids’ gatherings for upwards of 125+ kids alongside a Kids Team of 70+ volunteers. It is your responsibility to steward the vision of Reach for the lives of kids from birth through 5th grade. 

This role is 40 hours/week.

• Passionate about discipling kids. Time spent with kids fills your bucket. You are as passionate about building relationships with families and their kids as you are about the vision for this ministry.
• Vision Painter: As the Reach Kids Pastor It is your responsibility to help volunteers, parents and the church see the vital role Reach Kids plays in seeing Christ formed in the next generation and in building the Kingdom of God.
• Problem Solver: You stay calm in high-stress situations and figure out how to work the problem when challenges arise.
• Strong Communicator: Confident being in front of children and adults. Able to take complex concepts and make them simple (verbal and written).
• Organized: You step into chaos and create order. You are not phased by complex puzzles of people and processes. 
• Confident Self-starter and Team Builder: Able to work independently while using discretion in decision-making.
• Outstanding Interpersonal Skills: Able to interact effectively with a wide age-range of people and volunteers.

Experience & Education: 

• 4+ years of experience working with kids/youth ministry, as a paid or volunteer leader or as a teacher/coach. 
• 2+ years of experience preaching/speaking to kids/youth.
• Formal training in Bible, theology and discipleship. BA degree preferred, but not required.

Your Core Responsibilities | What does success look like for this position?

Champion All Things Reach Kids

• Be the vocal, front-facing leader of Reach Kids’ Sunday gatherings. You’re the go-to person for welcoming new families, recruiting and equipping volunteers, and fostering a fun and safe environment for kids of all ages and abilities.  
• Prayerfully implement a Gospel-centric, age appropriate curriculum for each age group within Reach Kids.
• Co-lead Reach Kids special events such as Reach Summer Camp in June 2025, and partner with Reach leadership in developing family discipleship events.

Build a Team & Equip Leaders

• Recruit and develop an ever-growing team of 80+ Kids volunteers. (You’ll have the full support of the Family Pastor, Executive Director, and the Elder Team)

Lead a team of high-caliber volunteer Reach Kids Class Leads and Coordinators to be your day-in, day-out partners in ministry. (You can’t do this role alone!)
