The Elder Team invites you to join us in praying for the following themes this month:

• For God to bring the right people forward to join Reach’s staff in the current open roles.
• For new team members to be added to our Sunday Serve Teams for their long term thriving and sustainability.
• For the McCormacks to experience supernatural rest and refreshment on their sabbatical this summer, and for the people of Reach to joyfully own the mission of our church through discipleship and service like never before.
• For a building that will serve as Reach’s permanent home to present itself in perfect timing, and for the resources to make its acquisition possible.

May 4, 2022 | Elder Team & Summer 2022 Priorities

On May 4th, the elders (with newly installed Candidates!) met via Zoom to discuss how the team will work together over the upcoming season and what the primary topics of discussion will be. Executive Director Rob Garey joined our discussion with Mike O’Neil, Sean Gasparetti, Rick Grimm, Charlie Maier, and Don Hjort present as elders.

The elders agreed that meeting weekly until July would be helpful in getting the new elders ramped up more quickly and while most meetings will likely be on Zoom, we will plan for a few in-person meetings as well. Additionally, we got organized on our communication channels around email, Slack, and file sharing on Google Drive.

Some priority topics for discussion and decision by the Elders this summer include:

• Approving the Summer preaching plan
• Determining the Staff team design and recruiting for new roles.
• Finalizing the definition of what it means to be a ‘Pastor’ at Reach.
• Approving the annual fiscal year budget.

The elders met to discuss and approve Summer 2022 priorities and the proposed preaching calendar. We also investigated the Sunday Serve needs over the summer and discussed ways to close the gaps on key Serve Teams. We need 20+ people in Kids and Setup/Teardown, respectively, for sustainable, healthy teams through the Summer. May 18, 2022 | Defining ‘Pastors’ at Reach

The Elder team met to review Reach's position on leadership, pastors, and women in leadership within the church, and considered a proposal to bring improved clarity to how Reach defines ‘Pastor’ as a formal role on Reach’s Staff team.
